12 x 12 Folio Wonderful Times

Hi everyone,

I hope you all are having a great day. Today I have a fun 12 x 12 Folio for you using the May 2024 Scrapbooking Kit. Below I have the tutorial which shows you the process in creating this 12 x 12 Folio. Super easy and fun to do and you can add your own twist to it inside with adding flaps, flips or other pages.

May 2024 Scrapbook Kit

To start off you will need to cut a piece of chipboard 1 x 12 inches and cut cardstock piece at 2 1/4 x 12 inches

Next place the the chipboard in the middle of the spine as shown below. Set aside.

Now cut 8 pieces of card stock at 2 x 12 inches and place double back tape on the top and bottom of the strips horizontally.

Now slide half of the strip under one of the sides of the 12 x 12 chipboard (Do Not Adhere) fold over the top half to create a crease. Do this for both 12 x 12 chipboard pieces.

Next pull the strip out and cut both edges at a slant. So miter both edges, do this for all 8 strips.

Now you can place the strip back under the chipboard and adhere down.

Here is what the finished chipboard should look like with all 4 sides finished.

Creating the spine. Place down a strip of tape on top of the chipboard piece.

Next place the 1/2 inch flap from the spine under the 12 x 12 chipboard (front cover) and adhere down and burnish.

Do the same on the other 12 x 12 chipboard piece (back cover)

Cut a piece of 2 pieces of pattern paper 2 1/4 x 12 inches and lay down on the inside spine and the outside spine and adhere down be sure to use your bone folder to form creases in between the chipboard pieces. so it lays down flat.

Next you can adhere your pattern papers on the outside cover and inside cover.

Next to create our pages cut 2 pieces of 1 x 12 inch strips and score 1/2 inch and you'll need 2 pieces of 12 x 12 cardstock.

Adhere one side of the 1/2 inch flap from the hinge to your 12x12 cardstock with the fold side adhered on the edge.

Next adhere the of 1/2 inch flap to the spine. Do this for both pages.

Here is the front page layout. Super easy to create. The pink strips are 2 x 12 and the wood grain strips are 1 1/2 x 12 inch. I created banners from the scraps and created a photo mat.

On the back of page one I created a photo mat that lays horizontal on top. I cut out the large tags from the cut a-part page and placed photo mats that are 2 1/2 x 3 inches on each tag. Decorated with ephemera, flowers and cut a-parts.

Here are some photos of the inside for you to view. I truly love how these pages turned out super easy to do and you can definitely add flips and flaps or other elements to your own style. I can't wait to finish this up and place some more photos inside. I hope you like this 12x12 Folio as much as I do.

Hello Spring Flower DIY Pallet

 Hello Everyone,

Hope you are having a great day. I'm back with another fun project for Spring/ Summer Home Decor.

Let's get started. Down below I have the photos and links to the items I used for this project.

Fancy Butterfly Chipboard                             Flower DIY Pallet Shape

The first thing I did was paint the Flower Pallet yellow and then went with a mustard yellow to create an ombre effect. I think it turned out so pretty. After I was done painting I set aside to dry.

Next I painted the pretty Fancy Butterflies. I painted one yellow with a hint of lime green in the center. I really like how this one turned out.

For the second Fancy Butterfly I painted white first then used my blue gelato to color the inside of the wings. I didn't go very dark as I wanted to stay with a very light blue. I used my brown sharpie marker to color the body and antennas brown.

After the Flower Pallet dried I decided use Simple Stories Spring Garden papers to create a Spring like collage around the flower. I used some flowers from my stash that I adhered with hot glue and placed the Fancy Butterflies on the flower. I really like how this Flower DIY Pallet turned out. I did drill some small holes on top and threaded some ribbon through so I could hang this on my door.

I thoroughly enjoyed creating this Spring Flower DIY Pallet for y'all today. I hope you have a chance to head over to the shop and check out all the wonderful wooden pallets and shiplap pieces that are in the store. Hopefully you got some inspiration to create your own door hanging pallet.
Thanks so much for joining me I have the links to both of the items I used in today's step by step tutorial above and throughout the page.
I hope you have a wonderful day and Happy Crafting

Wonderful Times Two Page Layout

 Hi everyone,

I am so excited to share with a lovely two page layout I created using the May 2024 Scrapbook Kit. I absolutely love how these turned out. We did some fun little waterfalls on one of the pages and added some of the beautiful flowers and ephemera. Below I have the video tutorial sharing the layout process and I have the link to the May Scrapbook Kit for you to just click on the link.

                                                                May 2024 Scrapbook Kit

Layout Page 1

To get started you need a white 12x12 sheet of paper. Choose the pattern paper you would like and cut to the measurements listed. The green checked paper is cut at 5 1/2 x 12; 1 pink at 2 x 12; 1 pink at 2 1/2 x 12; wooden pattern is 3 x 12 inches.

Next I used a punch from my stash to punch the top pink border. I did cut a 3/4 inch piece as a border to the left side of the wooden pattern paper.

There are four mats for the photos. Mats are cut the same for both layouts. White mat is  ; Green mat   ; Pink mat  ; The larger mat is the floral pattern paper

Here is the finished layout. I added the beautiful Chipboard Roses along with the ephemera, silk flowers and the little wooden embellishments that come with the Scrapbook kit.

Layout 2

To start the second layout cut the middle piece 7 x 11 7/8 inches.
Cut two strips, wooden plank print, 1 1/4 x 11 7/8 inches. Adhere down as shown below

Now we create 6 waterfall pieces. Cut your cardstock/pattern paper. Next score each piece 1/2 inch, this is your flap you will adhere down to the layout.

Place your top waterfall down by placing glue to the 1/2 inch flap that is scored. The second one  you will do the same but move it over about 1/2 inch so it is staggered and the next one the same. (see video tutorial for more details) Do the same for the waterfall below as well.

Next add magnets to the waterfalls. I added one behind the top waterfall as you see below. The magnet is small you can see it a bit underneath my thumb.

Here you can see a bit of the magnet that is attached to the behind the top flap in the upper right hand corner. The second magnet is the adhered to the wooden plank strip below.

Next decorate your layout and add your photos.

Here are both layouts finished. I think they look so pretty with the ephemera and pretty chipboard roses from the Scrapbooking Kit.

I hope you enjoyed today's step by step tutorial. For more details you can always view the video tutorial process, which is at the top of the page.

Cherish Shaker Baby Frame

 Good morning,

It's Deb here today with a super cute way you can display those cute photos of your kids or grandchildren within a little shaker plaque/frame. For this project I used Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Plaque Rectangle and Cherish Chipboard Word. In the shop there are tons of words to choose from along with a variety of Shaker Shapes. Below shows you what I used along with the links.

To start off with we are going to paint the Cherish Chipboard Word using Sky Blue paint. I thought this color was perfect coordinating with the pattern paper I selected.

To put the Shaker Plaque together you will have 3 frames and 1 acetate piece. Adhere 2 of the plaque frames together and then adhere the acetate piece on top of the 2 plaques you just adhered. The 3rd plaque frame we will cover with pattern paper.

Here is what the 2 frames and acetate piece look like once all three are adhered together.

Next take the 3rd plaque frame and trace around the outside of the frame on pattern paper and cut it out.

Adhere the pattern paper to the frame.

Turn over the and use your xacto knife to cut from corner to corner, in the middle, like cutting pizza slices. Then use your xacto knife and cut along the inside edges. All your little pieces should come out fairly easy, if they don't come out just go over it again with the xacto knife.

Here is what the frame looks like once your done.

Next place double back tape and glue on the back of the plaque/frame and place your photo on top. Make sure you burnish the photo down.

Once your photo is adhered place down your shaker bits on top and adhere the pattern paper frame on top of the acetate. Then adhere the frame on top, be sure to burnish down the sides really well so the shaker bits do not fall out.

Now find a frame that you can hang on the wall or place up on a table. Take out all the cardboard that is inside the frame and use one that you will cover with pattern paper, as shown below.
Once you have the cardboard papered adhere your picture shaker plaque/frame on top.

Once you place the cardboard and the backing back onto the frame you can decorate how you would like. Since this is a photo of my grandson I thought I would use a little banner that I fussy cut along with the little teddy bears and blue tennis shoes. I adhered the Cherish Chipboard Word on the top of the frame.  This is so cute.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and that you got some inspiration to try this out. I just love creating picture frames with photos of my grandkids.
Thanks so much for joining me I have the links to both of the items I used in today's step by step tutorial above and throughout the page.
I hope you have a wonderful day and Happy Crafting
